A tier 1 contractor for Welsh Water is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects under the new AMP8 framework. Candidates from sectors such as water, utilities, pharmaceutical, or oil and gas are encouraged to apply. This position is ideal for experienced project managers or project engineers seeking a step up in their career.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects under Framework Agreements, ensuring safety, quality, and cost-efficiency. A key focus will be on fostering effective communication and collaboration with Client Representatives, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Strong leadership and communication skills will be essential to successfully manage a team via indirect line management and deliver projects to the highest standards.

Role Responsibilities
·Project Oversight: Plan, execute, and deliver projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
·Lifecycle Delivery: Manage all project phases, including outline design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on clean water and wastewater projects.
·Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with Client Representatives, internal teams, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
·Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical elements throughout project delivery, leveraging technical knowledge to oversee design, construction, and commissioning activities effectively.
·Risk and Cost Management: Proactively identify risks and implement cost-effective solutions while monitoring progress and maintaining project focus.
·Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Candidate Requirements
·Proven experience in full lifecycle project delivery, ideally in clean or wastewater sectors.
·Strong technical expertise with a bias toward Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, including familiarity with construction delivery, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
·Relevant qualifications such as HNC, Degree, or NVQ Level 4 (preferred).
·Certifications in CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work (mandatory).
·Comprehensive understanding of SHEQ and CDM regulations.
·Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
Desirable: Candidates with backgrounds in water/wastewater or related fields are highly encouraged to apply.
