What the Job Involves
  • Conducting general highway maintenance tasks, including potholing, drainage, fencing, and grass cutting.
  • Operating small machinery and tools necessary for the job.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards as per H&S legislation and Council policy.
  • Completing work records and safety assessments electronically when required.
  • Participating in winter maintenance duties and standby rotas.
  • Occasionally supervising the work of other operatives.
  • Reporting any unsafe work practices or equipment to a supervisor.
  • Assisting the highways operations team in meeting service improvement standards.
  • Maintaining courteous interactions with the public and upholding service delivery standards.
  • Contributing to the creation of a Smoke-Free workplace
