Internal Sales Representative, Monmouthshire

Candour Talent Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Internal Sales Representative for a well-established technical distributor. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with an engineering or electronic assembly background who is looking to transition into a commercial sales and marketing position.

This is a customer-focused, sales-driven role that requires strong communication skills, confidence, and a proactive approach to managing inbound sales enquiries, following up on leads, and generating new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Manage inbound sales enquiries, providing technical support and product guidance.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outbound sales activities.
  • Follow up promptly on quotations, sales leads, and marketing campaigns to convert opportunities into revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring ongoing support and account management.
  • Work closely with the outside sales team, identifying potential customers and opportunities to pass on.

Marketing & Customer Engagement

  • Engage with social media platforms to monitor and respond to industry trends and potential customer engagement.
  • Support marketing activities by handling sales promotions and liaising with the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop promotional materials to drive sales growth.

Sales Strategy & Analysis

  • Monitor and analyse customer and competitor trends, providing insights to support sales strategies.
  • Track and report on company sales performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Utilise CRM systems (QX) to manage customer lists, track engagement, and drive follow-ups.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Background in engineering, electronic assembly, or a technical sales environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, confident in speaking with customers and handling sales enquiries.
  • Excellent phone manner - able to engage, persuade, and build rapport with customers.
  • Ability to be tenacious without being overbearing when following up on sales leads.
  • Proactive approach - able to identify opportunities, make outbound sales calls, and develop new business.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate with sales and marketing teams, contributing to business development initiatives.
