What it's like to work hereReporting to the Senior Volunteering and Community Officer (part time role), this is a ‘desk job’, but you'll get to work in some of the most beautiful settings at a very exciting time for our places, with great people! Â
The South Somerset portfolio has four main properties – Barrington Court, Lytes Cary Manor, Montacute House and Tintinhull Garden as well as a wider countryside estate. Our places are in fairly remote places, so you'll need your own transport to get to them. You’ll be working across the portfolio supporting colleagues across all our teams.Â
We are a busy portfolio with over 288,000 visitors across our properties each year. This is a very exciting time for us as Barrington Court and Montacute House both have major restoration projects about to start. Our teams are committed and passionate about delivering excellence every day and ensuring our visitors have a memorable visit. With over 300 volunteers across all teams, we work together as one, supporting each other to achieve a great level of success.Â
What you'll be doingYou'll work across departments to help deliver the Volunteering and Community plan and respond to agreed priorities, providing administrative, communications and event support. Â
You’ll be working in collaboration with colleagues across all our discipline areas, such as programming, curation, gardens, estates and visitor experience. Helping to provide volunteers, volunteer managers, partners and communities with a quality and consistent experience. Supporting the team to develop an inclusive culture and embedding the ‘Welcome Everyone’ Value.Â
Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you if you have;Â
• Knowledge and practical experience of IT systems e.g Microsoft Office and client relationship management systems. This is essential, as is the confidence to learn new systems.Â
• Great organisational skills to deliver tasks on time, with good attention to detail and an understanding of why great customer service matters.Â
• Good communication and team-working skills.Â
• An understanding of the differences between staff and volunteers and enthusiastic about the benefits of volunteering and community engagementÂ
• A flexible approach and positive attitude towards changeÂ
