The Role:

As the General Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee the Machinery, Labour, and Commodities divisions. You will ensure the efficient operation of the business while maintaining exceptional service standards. This role involves strategic leadership, operational management, and business development. You will be responsible for managing a team of 20 staff across five offices, ensuring financial targets are met, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to support and expand the cooperative's membership. Drive business growth through innovative marketing, partnerships, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high service quality and efficiency. Implement standards and protocols to optimise operations.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a diverse team, promoting a positive work environment and high performance.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets and financial performance, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities. Negotiate contracts and build relationships with suppliers.
  • Brand Stewardship: Uphold and enhance the company's brand identity. Ensure customer interactions reflect the organisation's values.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with partners, suppliers, and customers.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a background in agriculture or substantial experience in related industries. You should possess strong management skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities. Experience in senior management, leadership, and financial oversight is essential. A FACTS qualification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior management role in agriculture or related fields.
  • Proven track record of business growth and financial achievement.
