First People Solutions is currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor, working on a significant Rail Civils Renewal Framework in Scotland. This is an excellent chance to be involved in key projects with values ranging from 500k to 3m. Your first project will be a Rail Bridge Replacement, playing an essential role in enhancing Scotland's rail infrastructure.

The Role:

As a Site Engineer, you'll report to the Project Manager/Site Agents and take responsibility for the planning and execution of site-based work across Scotland. You'll play a key part in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing Site Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards for all site activities
  • Reviewing and interpreting project drawings and specifications for site-based activity
  • Handling setting out and surveying works to ensure accurate and professional execution
  • Supervising labour, plant, and subcontractors to keep the project running smoothly
  • Organising the daily and weekly planning of site activities, including creating and reviewing necessary documentation like Risk Assessments and Work Package Plans
  • Maintaining detailed records of site activities

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or relevant qualifications
  • Experience in setting out and surveying on civil engineering projects
  • Proven ability in the planning and delivery of site works, including production and review of Inspection Test Plans and Work Package Plans
