Overview:

A profitable group of three companies with total sales revenue of approximately 3.1M p.a. serving the passive fire protection market. Abesco Fire Ltd is primarily a manufacturing company and has 11 employees. Neutron Fire Technologies Ltd has one employee and Abesco Fire LLC has one employee, home-based, in the USA.

The current Managing Director of the Group is looking to move to part-time working and there is a need for a someone with well-rounded commercial experience to set a clear strategy for the Group and execute key initiatives taking responsibility for achieving targeted outcomes. The Group has significant growth potential and financial resources and will be investing in a major new product and market development programme.

Objectives:

Have full P&L responsibility for the group of companies. Report directly to the owner. Remote working is possible with visits to the main manufacturing company, customers and suppliers;

Work collaboratively with the current management team to develop an overall business strategy with SMART deliverables for the Group and individual companies;

Lead and motivate the management team to more fully engage all employees and create a culture of high performance;

Be responsible for all business activities to ensure these are aligned with strategic objectives and progressing towards their successful achievement;

Ensure robust financial oversight.

Person specification:

Proven experience, 5+ years, of successfully driving business growth in an engineering/manufacturing SME environment;

Energetic and inspiring to employees. Gravitas and excellent communication skills with the ability to effect successful relationships both internally and externally; proven problem-solving skills;

Ability to see plans through to successful completion. Results driven
