We have an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR EC&I Engineer to be based at our clients offices in West Cumbria, although candidates in other locations will be considered.

About the Role:

A Senior EC&I Engineer is required to deliver the appraise and select phase EC&I design packages for current and future design stages of the SMC Project.

The Sellafield Limited (SL) Analytical Services (AS) Programme have a strategic stakeholder regulatory requirement to have ceased all operations in existing AS laboratories by 2030.

In support of the AS Programmes strategic objective, the Sample Management Capability (SMC) Project will provide facilities to handle future Low Active (LA) analytical demands to support SL operations from 2028. The general requirements of the new facility shall include LA sample receipt, storage, analysis and dispatch.

The Design Service Alliance (DSA), in collaboration with Sellafield, shall complete the Sample Management Capability (SMC) Projects Sellafield Ltds Gated Process Stage 2 Appraise and Select activities and deliverables.
The DSAs scope shall be as stated in Sellafield Ltd reference PEGN. In support of the Stage 2 scope, the DSA shall include provisions for early contractor and/or supplier engagement activities.

Completion of Stage 2 scope shall be defined as approval of the SMC Projects OBC by the delegated authority. Completion of the Stage 3 Continuity scope shall be agreed between the Employer and Consultant.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

HNC in Electrical Engineering.
SQEP as AXIOM Senior Engineer.
Experience of SL working practices.
Previous experience with the design of a broad range of EC&I building services, including LV electrical distribution.
Previous experience of radiological/environmental monitoring systems.
Previous experience with electrical distribution including the design of new HV/LV cable routes, HV/LV transformers and switchgear and HV/LV distribution.
Strong stakeholder management skills to support selection and design of new electrical supply routes.
Experience in the following design tools:
Revit
AutoCAD
Strong Excel skills
Replicon User
SharePoint (desirable)

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Chartered Engineer
Experience working in a fast-paced project environment.
Familiar with working under NEC3 contracts.
Previous experience designing new laboratory facilities, including laboratory instrumentation.
Previous experience of the control of nuclear ventilations systems.
Previous experience of integrating electrical services into a modular building system.
Previous experience of designing new build facilities for Sellafield would be advantageous, but not essential.
