Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and will be committed to creating an inclusive and empowering learning experience for all.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with ASD and/or ADHD, ensuring their individual needs are met in the classroom setting
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement personalized learning plans and behavior management strategies for students with SEN
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for students, promoting social and emotional well-being
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources tailored to the specific needs of students with ASD and/or ADHD
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals involved in the students' care to ensure a holistic approach to their education and well-being

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with individuals with ASD and/or ADHD is essential
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Relevant certifications or training in the field of Special Educational Needs is desirable

Day-to-day

  • Provide individualized support to students during lessons, ensuring they are able to engage and participate fully
  • Collaborate with teachers to facilitate the inclusion of students in all aspects of school life
  • Monitor and record student progress, and contribute to the review and development of their individual support plans
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting respect and understanding among all students
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN
