Long Term Futures are currently working alongside a mainstream primary school and we are seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work with children in years 5 and 6 on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis to ensure ongoing social and academic development and act as a role model to ensure positive behaviour amongst peers.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Collaborate and work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver the primary curriculum in classroom environments.
  • Provide 1:1 and 2:1 assistance to students with SEMH Needs across years 5 and 6.
  • Design stimulating and engaging learning and play environments for children across the primary school.
  • Closely work with the class teacher to help deliver a specialised curriculum to the students.
  • Report and monitor the student's progress.

About you:

  • Previous experience working with primary school students or students with SEMH.
  • This role will include ongoing relationship development with the students, the ideal candidate will be patient, empathic and resilient.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate and two references.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree or other relevant qualification is desirable.
  • Great communicator and ability to work alongside other team members and individually.
