A leading South London Local Authority is seeking an Interim Traffic Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of traffic, transport, and parking-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the high-quality standards set by the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute projects, tasks, and functions related to Traffic and Highway Services, ensuring adherence to the Council's targets and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee various traffic, transport, and parking-related schemes, including but not limited to traffic calming initiatives, school streets projects, cycle improvements, and local safety measures.
  • Assist in the formulation, monitoring, and management of budgets for projects and programs undertaken by the Traffic and Highway Services.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, including cabinet reports, briefing documents, and proofs of evidence. Additionally, efficiently address correspondence related to less intricate issues.
  • Design, develop, and implement traffic, transport, and parking-related schemes, ensuring thorough consultation with stakeholders and the community.
Essential Experience:
  • Proven experience in managing projects, tasks, and functions within Traffic and Highway Services, ensuring they meet quality and target standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial compliance within projects and programs.
  • Strong report writing skills with experience in creating cabinet reports, briefing documents, and proofs of evidence.
