EYFS Teaching Assistant (Reception)

Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Morecambe

Hours: 8:45am until 3.15pm (1 hours for lunch). 27.5 hours per week

Salary: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about early years education and shaping young learners' futures? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join lively and hard-working Reception team in Morecambe. This position is to start in January 2025 on a long term, ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.
  • Assist in implementing daily phonics sessions, utilizing your knowledge and experience to enhance children's reading skills.
  • Provide individual and group support to children, ensuring every child reaches their potential.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering creative activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Carry out general TA duties, including preparing resources, tidying up, and supervising outdoor play.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, contributing to their learning journeys.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working within EYFS, particularly in a Reception class.
  • Strong understanding and experience of teaching phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds).
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude with a passion for supporting young learners.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is desirable.
