We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Morecambe. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to facilitate the learning and daily routine of a non-verbal pupil with Down’s Syndrome, working closely with another teaching assistant in a mainstream school setting.
Day-to-day of the role:- Collaborate with another teaching assistant to support the pupil’s everyday routine and integration into mainstream school activities.
- Develop a caring and supportive relationship with the pupil, focusing on enhancing their educational and social development.
- Employ specialised communication techniques to interact effectively with a non-verbal pupil.
- Assist in the implementation of educational plans and activities designed to meet the pupil’s unique learning needs.
- Provide emotional support and demonstrate resilience in managing challenging situations.
- Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the pupil’s education and care.
- Experience in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential.
