To direct and control shift operations for the Heysham site, whilst maintaining the highest level of compliance to the company's health and safety, environmental, procedural, and statutory goals. The Shift Manager is responsible for a team of personnel reporting to the Production Manager. They ensure an efficient and optimum performance of the plants and personnel to provide the highest level of output and customer service.

Do you have what it takes?

  • To provide scheduled cover for 24/7 shift operations during planned shift manager absences [equivalent to 50% of scheduled holidays where possible].
  • To provide ad-hoc cover for unscheduled shift manager absences [where possible].
  • To manage Heysham Plant operations in conformance with the working plan, licence/PPC permit and any other statutory requirements.
  • To continually strive towards the highest health & safety goals.
  • To ensure that all plants and processes are operated safely and in accordance with correct operating procedures and practices.
  • To assist the SHEQ team with investigation into Incidents, Accidents and Near Miss events on the Heysham site.
  • To be responsible as the Site Incident Controller out of office hours until the arrival of the Main Incident Controller.
  • To ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001,) legislation and procedures relating to fuel production on the Heysham site.
  • To ensure that employees, and where applicable contractors, are issued with, and wear, the correct PPE, and relevant records are kept.
