About the Role

The Defueling Group on site are focussed on the safe, efficient delivery of Defueling Preparations to ensure the station is ready to commence and deliver defueling. We have an opportunity for an Engineering role within the team to support the delivery of key modification work.

The role involves working within the Defueling Group to initially help to implement key aspects of the Essential Defueling Safety Case. The role is likely to develop in time to include additional Engineering work such as enhanced modifications to support the timely efficient delivery of defueling following End of Generation.

Key activities will include:

  • Supporting optioneering workshops and liaising with external technical support to identify optimum solutions.
  • Answering initial technical queries from supporting external support to enable the project to progress in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to help ensure clear communications.
  • Liaising with existing station Engineers to ensure they are aware of proposed modifications to their plant and seeking their insights. Picking up supporting work as requested.
  • Maintain oversight of the overall implementation work and associated progress.
  • Help to ensure key station applications (such as One Risk, IMS2 etc) are accurate and up to date.

There may be the potential to spend some time directly with one of the Engineering teams on site to help the individual's development and learn about key station processes.

We are looking for someone with good communication and organisations skills as this role will involve liaising with multiple individuals across a range of projects.
