Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic DT Technician to join a school in Lancaster immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a DT Technician and possess effective communication skills.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide technical support in Design and Technology classes.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for DT lessons.
  • Maintain and manage the DT equipment, ensuring all tools and machines are in safe working condition.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons, ensuring a safe working environment for all students.
  • Support students in using DT equipment and materials correctly.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recent relevant experience working as a DT Technician at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is advantageous.
  • Reliable and committed to working with students, demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
