We are currently seeking a dynamic Exclusion Support to join a school in Lancaster immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Implement strategies to manage and support students facing temporary exclusions.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the pastoral team to monitor and support the progress of students.
  • Develop and implement reintegration plans for students returning from exclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and interventions.
  • Provide one-to-one support and group sessions to help students understand the impact of their behaviour and learn constructive ways to manage it.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model displaying qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
