Role: Children's Support Worker

Location: Morecambe

Pay: £15 - £20ph

Hours:

  • Flexible Hours
  • Day (12 hour shift) / Waking Night (12 hour shift)
  • Long day sleeps (8am to 11pm sleep in)
  • Shorter shifts also

About the role

These roles will be working with children and young people with a range of different challenges. This can include emotional behavioural issues, mental health issues or learning difficulties. You will be required to have at least 1 year of UK experience working in a similar role. These positions are on a 2:1 + basis for challenging support roles or 1:1 for low level supprot work with no significant challenges that are risk assessed.

Duties include:

  • You will be required to ensure that our children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care and to assist them reaching their full potential.
  • To ensure children's safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times.
  • To promote education, independent living and maintain a healthy home environment.
  • To provide detailed written notes for each shift.
  • To professionally liaise with professionals.
  • Uphold essential safeguarding.
  • To effectively communicate with the service user and professionals.

The young people involved in these placements can have a range of needs, including:

  • Challenging & aggressive behaviour
  • Learning disability
  • Autistic Spectrum Condition
  • ADHD
  • Personality Disorder
  • Self-Injury
  • Mental health diagnosis
  • Victims of the range of abuses
  • Inappropriate behaviours

Criteria for these roles are:

  • Child and Adult DBS - on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous Experience in a similar role (1 year UK experience).
  • References covering the last 3 years
  • Willingness to travel to different areas.
