SEND Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. The role offers an immediate start, working full-time from Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:15pm. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of ASD and experience working with children with SEND is desirable.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide support to a child in class on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups.
  • Offer general classroom support under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
  • Help implement individual learning plans and contribute to assessments.
  • Encourage children’s confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to support the child’s educational and social development.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Understanding of ASD and how to support children with this condition.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage with children.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
