Role : Full Time

Northumberland County Council's Central FACT Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and providing high-quality support to families facing complex challenges.

About the Role:

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to:

  • Providing expert assessment and case management for families where there are concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of families to determine the level of risk to children, understand the family's needs, and identify appropriate support and intervention strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with families, children, and other agencies to deliver effective and timely interventions.
  • Engaging with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Advocating for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of families, identifying their needs and risks.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
  • Work closely with families, children, and other agencies to deliver timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative working groups.
  • Provide information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the team and service delivery.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
  • Social Care England registration.
  • Updated DBS check.
  • Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a child protection setting.
  • Experience working with families with complex needs and/or in a FACT team setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
  • Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
