Job OverviewOur client are seeking a reliable and skilled Handy Man / Labourer to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set to tackle various maintenance and repair tasks across residential and commercial properties in Northumberland. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, carpentry (Including hanging doors), and painting. Ability to change locks and support with kitchen and bathroom installations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify issues and necessary repairs.
  • Respond promptly to service requests from clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Assist with installations of fixtures and appliances as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Handy Man or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various repair techniques and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition; ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • A valid driving licence to travel between job sites. (Company vehicle is provided to travel to and from jobs).
  • Strong communication skills.
