About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of SHE to strengthen our SHEQ team. As Head of SHE, you will lead all Safety, Health, and Environmental initiatives across the organisation. You will be accountable for developing and executing SHE strategies to ensure operations meet exemplary standards. This is a critical role within the senior leadership team, focusing on driving performance improvement, ensuring compliance with management systems, and fostering a culture of continual development. You will also have the opportunity to influence the SHE strategy at the parent company level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of an inclusive and collaborative SHE culture, driving maturity and excellence across the organisation.
  • Develop and manage the SHE strategy, ensuring it aligns with short-, medium-, and long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee the SHE Management System to meet internal and external requirements, ensuring efficiency and alignment with company and client standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement SHE initiatives in line with both company and client expectations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, and industry bodies, to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and develop the SHE team, nurturing growth, learning, and continual improvement.
  • Define and report on SHE performance through key metrics, driving strategic direction and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate SHE-related risks, ensuring the organisation is always prepared and compliant.


What Our Client is Looking For:

Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in a SHE function within infrastructure, water, or other regulated markets.
  • Expertise in coaching teams to achieve high performance.
  • Strong knowledge of delivering SHE standards across project lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and reporting systems.

Competencies - Technical:

  • Ability to autonomously develop and implement SHE strategies, backed by robust technical knowledge of systems, risks, and legal frameworks.
  • Track record of achieving SHE, financial, and operational KPIs.

Competencies - Behavioural:

  • Strategic, open-minded leader with strong analytic skills and a commitment to productivity and compliance.
  • Experience in driving cultural transformation and organisational development.
  • Effective in dynamic, complex environments with excellent relationship-building and influencing abilities.
  • Structured approach to problem-solving and risk management.
