Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading engineering company renowned for its innovative vacuum furnace technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical Assembly and Testing
    • Assemble and test systems within a vacuum furnace, including:
      • Water Systems: Manifolds, pump skids, and interconnections using materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and copper. (Brazing experience is advantageous.)
      • Pneumatics: Install pneumatic lines for valves, devices, and air islands.
      • Vacuum Systems: Install vacuum pipelines with bolted connections and components.
      • Gas Systems: Install gas lines to devices using materials like stainless steel.
    • Perform other mechanical assembly tasks requiring precision and high-quality workmanship.
  2. Fault Finding and Testing
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical system faults.
    • Inspect component parts as required.
    • Conduct vacuum and pressure tests on components and systems (training provided).
  3. On-Site Repairs and Installations
    • Travel to customer sites to perform repairs and installations, as necessary.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with hydraulic circuitry.
  • Basic welding ability.
  • Forklift and MEWPs (3a & 3b) certifications.
  • Confined space training.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential.
