Assembly Technician Team LeadLocation: Motherwell | Contract: Permanent Full TimeWe are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client for an experienced Assembly Technician Team Lead to join their Custom Solutions team.About the RoleAs the Assembly Technician Team Lead, you will:* Lead & Motivate: Supervise a team of skilled technicians, ensuring that production orders are effectively organised, scheduled, and executed.* Technical Expertise: Interpret technical and engineering drawings to guide the fitting, assembly, and testing of custom manufacturing projects.* Quality & Safety: Maintain strict quality control and HSE standards, ensuring every project meets the highest levels of performance and safety.* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements, manage internal stock inventory, and maintain an efficient, safe workshop environment.* Collaboration: Work closely with Proposal Managers and Project Engineers to ensure that technical updates are accurately captured in the final as-built product.What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements:* Previous supervisory/lead experience in a mechanical or production environment.* Strong organisational and scheduling skills, with the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.* A quality-focused mindset and solid experience in mechanical fitting and assembly.* Educational qualification to NVQ/BTEC/HNC/HND level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings and using standard project planning tools.* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.* Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.Preferred Qualifications:* Forklift driver's license and lift equipment certification.* Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.* Familiarity with mounting instrument/control equipment on panels or within enclosures.* Knowledge of twin ferrule design mechanical connections and threaded fittings.Our Client's Core ValuesOur client's success is built on core values that include:* Respect: Valuing diverse perspectives and treating everyone with consideration.* Quality: Delivering outcomes that consistently exceed expectations.* Integrity: Acting with courage and character.* Innovation: Challenging the status quo to create new value.* Continuous Improvement: Constantly seeking ways to enhance processes.* Customer Focus: Being responsive to customer needs and ensuring exceptional service.Additional Information* Salary: £38k - £40k* Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm* Travel: Regional and occasional international travel may be required.
