Escape Recruitment is working with a well-established manufacturing and engineering company in North Lanarkshire to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager. This is a key role in driving business growth by managing key accounts and identifying new market opportunities.

You will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, increasing profitability, and leading a small sales team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company experiencing continued growth with further expansion plans ahead.



About the Role:

  • Customer Relationship Management - Own and develop key accounts, ensuring excellent service and identifying new growth opportunities.
  • Sales & Profitability - Drive revenue growth, manage pricing strategies, and oversee account profitability.
  • Strategic Growth - Identify new business opportunities, lead bids and tenders, and monitor market intelligence.
  • Team Leadership - Manage and mentor a team of two sales professionals.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with internal departments such as Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure seamless customer service.
  • Client Interaction & Events - Occasional travel within Scotland for client meetings and attendance at key industry events.


What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in Sales, Business Development, or Account Management within Manufacturing or Engineering.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing pricing, contracts, and profitability.
  • Comfortable working in an SME environment with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • People management experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and ERP or MRP software.
