If you are passionate about precision engineering and have experience as a Setter / Operator, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our client is a well-established precision engineering business that specialises in machined components and mechanical assemblies for the automotive, defence and aerospace industries. They have a range of modern machines, including Star, Miyano and Okuma.

They are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning lathes to produce high-quality parts according to technical drawings and specifications. You will also perform quality control checks, troubleshoot and resolve any issues, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.


To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Proficiency in setting and programming CNC lathes. Specific experience with CTX or OKUMA lathes would be advantageous but not absolutely necessary.
  • Experience using FANUC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and use measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

The shift pattern for this role is 37 hours per week (day shift and back shift on alternate weeks).

The day shift is from 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 to 11:00 Friday.

The back shift is from 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday and 11:00 to 16:00 Friday
