Position: Ocean Import Operations & Account Manager

Location: Ipswich, IP10

Salary: 45,000

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-17:00pm

We are seeking a Senior Ocean Import Operations Specialist to join our team at our Ipswich premises. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight forwarding, ocean import operations, and account management, with a focus on customer service, and business retention, working on long-standing, high-revenue customer accounts.

Key Role & Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate ocean import operations for high-revenue customer accounts
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
• Coordinate with carriers, agents, and other service providers to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement
• Handle all aspects of import documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with applicable regulations
• Proactively identify and resolve any operational issues or customer concerns
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for account growth and expansion

Essential Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on ocean import operations
• Proven track record of successfully managing key accounts
• Strong understanding of import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and international trade practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including cargo tracking and management tools
