Our client a family lead business since the late 1880's are recognised as one of the UK's leading Sawmilling companies, are currently looking for a fulltime Engineering Supervisor to join their team based within the Nairn area.

We encourage applicants with a solid grounding in Industrial Mechanical Engineering with a strong Health & Safety work ethic, the role is shift work, which includes weekend working (1 in 3).

The role of engineering manager requires proven experience in leadership and strong people management of engineers including specifically.

As the Engineering Manager, you will be expected to achieve maximum production, safety and minimizing downtime, through a combination of effective engineering dayshift cover for breakdowns and planned backshift cover on planned preventative maintenance routines.

The Responsibilities:

  • The ability to work safely within time deadlines in a fast paced production environment, with a solid grounding in industrial engineering desirable.
  • Building a high performing engineering department who are individually and collectively responsible for contributing to agreed standards of performance and targets.
  • Providing guidance, training and mentoring to all engineers.
  • Creating a way of working that revolves around knowledge sharing and collaboration with key sawmill operators, as well as fellow engineers.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background, with a degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent. They will have experience of leading a team of engineers.
