Overview
Our College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our business support departments play a vital role in the smooth running of daily operational requirements, with departments including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance amongst others.
About the role
We now have an exciting opportunity for two Systems Technician's to join our Human Resources, Payroll and Finance departments. The position's will support multiple projects to streamline the full integration of new systems, with a requirement to ensure these are fit for purpose whilst maximising functionality.
In addition, you will be responsible for regular updates and testing, whilst providing guidance to the departments regarding system use to help simplify processes and improve ways of working.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for core college system.
- Work with the operational teams to understand the system requirements and provide advice and guidance on system improvements.
- Assist in the research, specification, design, implementation, testing and management of new or updated modules.
- Develop user acceptance testing schedules that can be used for upgrade testing.
- Oversee all system reviews, patches, updates and upgrades, liaising with third parties and the teams to agree downtime.
The successful candidate will have:
- Level 4/5 in computer science, Information Technology or relevant IT professional qualifications and/or equivalent. Vocational experience will be considered.
- GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
- Systems integration experience
- Experience of IT troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience
