Overview

Our College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Situated within the grounds of the College is the Reaseheath Mini Zoo and Animal Management Centre which is used by students and open to the public during school holidays and at weekends.

About the role 

We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of Curriculum Area Manager (CAM) for our Animal Management department. This is a unique opportunity to steer one of our vibrant departments, fostering the development and delivery of an innovative and impactful curriculum that prepares our students for success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of health and safety and safeguarding within an educational context.
  • Provide exceptional leadership and vision for the department.
  • Manage the curriculum targets and key performance indicators. 
  • Develop and implement new models of learning and vocational delivery.
  • Ensure efficient and effective timetabling and resource allocation for teaching and learning.
  • Uphold the quality of teaching and learning, addressing any performance gaps proactively.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external partners to enhance opportunities for students and the college.
  • Promote and support high aspirations among students, aiding them in achieving their goals.

The successful candidate will:

  • Minimum Level 5 qualification or recognised leadership and management qualification, and current relevant commercial/industry experience. 
  • Substantial experience of managing within a further education environment. 
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of effective teaching and learning methodologies and current best practice innovations to ensure high levels of learner progress and achievement. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of quality control and assurance processes.

Reaseheath offers a full CDP programme with access to funded qualifications alongside hands on support whilst completing Further Education Training. Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role, will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.
