QHSE Manager – Power Station

Newport, Wales

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quality Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join a gas fired power station in south Wales near Newport. You will be responsible for managing all QHSE compliance activities and initiatives. This includes implementing and maintaining QHSE programs across the plant and providing support to site management in these areas.

As the QHSE Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Providing all the necessary health and safety procedures for the O&M team
  • Investigating and reporting all site accidents and incidents
  • Assisting the Plant Manager in the formulation, review and development of QHSE policies and procedures
  • Acting as the Environmental Management representative and perform the duties of the role as further defined in site quality procedures
  • Ensuring site compliance with all permits and legislative HSE requirements
  • Manage and audit all wate streams from the site
  • Provide
  • Ensure site compliance with all relevant industry standards and guidelines such as PSSR, LOLER, PUWER and COSHH

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A relevant qualification at degree/HND/HNC level such as environmental science, chemistry or similar would be ideal
  • A NEBOSH / IOSH or similar or proven experience in H&S management
  • Experience in the power generation sector or a similar heavy process environment e.g. chemical plant, steel works, EFW plant, paper mill
  • Experience dealing with external bodies such as the Environment Agency, National Grid etc
  • Knowledge of CEMS and awareness of various ISO standards would be ideal – ISO9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Knowledge of various quality standards associated with the power industry
