Thankfully today the wider world now recognises the professionalism, training, and mechanical artistry of those who choose to invest their career time in studying, then moving on to a bench as a career watchmaker.

Over the last three years there has been a seismic change towards how consumers access brand after-sales professionalism and this has undoubtedly fuelled the extraordinary investment in horology that the whole sector has pleasingly experienced.

Manufacturers, Speciality Service Centres and now Retailers are rapidly expanding their respective operations to welcome those with horological training and the future for all parties has never been brighter.

Job Role:

These role(s) are to be in a new workshop environment fitted out to be amongst the highest most modern horological standards. It is expected that the successful watchmaker candidate will be bench experienced and appreciate entirely the disciplines and standards that specific manufacturers may insist upon being upheld.

The raft of skills that today’s watchmaker needs to embrace have been in the spotlight with very often brand owner intervention to ensure manufacture by manufacture each houses own standards are being rightly upheld.

These newly created watchmaker role(s) will naturally comply with the very same fastidious quality standards and assistance and support will be generously imparted/ accessible.

Productivity & consistency of standard of bench work will be an element of assessment that you delight in pitching your watchmaker talents against – for our client it is as important to them as it is to the watch wearer.

Requirements:

A Horology Graduate looking for their first career dedicated bench role, a time served experienced Horologist / Watchmaker either already with a specific Manufacture or recognised & accredited Service Centre.

It might be that you have travelled into horology though being a Watch Repairer / Watch Technician and are now looking to further train, evolve to become the Watchmaker you’ve felt you have the capability to become.


Industry training / brand competencies will be considered – and qualifications from be it an In-house within a Retail setting or Externally from the British School of Watchmaking WOSTEP / or the British Horological Institute BHI of course are always exciting to review.

Whatever the past discipline / industry pathway you remain keen to develop ever greater levels of watchmaker capability & would be keen to continue to career flourish given the opportunity…
