Axon Moore are working with an exciting UK based PLC to recruit a Part-Qualified Management Accountant into their Technology Division based near Swansea. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and successful group who are looking to bring in a confident and experienced Management Accountant who will be the point of contact for all aspects of the business, reporting remotely into the Finance Manager who is based in their shared service centre based in Manchester. This role will take responsibility for two entities within the group, ensuring the completion of core finance duties such as monthly reporting and forecasting for the P&L. You will business partner with leaders in other departments within the businesses, so strong business acumen and the confidence to take ownership and deliver results are essential.Salary and benefits:Salary - £38-42k DOE plus study support, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, enhanced Maternity and Paternity package (subject to eligibility criteria), health cash plan, free parking, 9-5 core hours with hybrid working (3 days in the office). Other staff benefits such as discounts on retail and travel are also available.Responsibilities include:
  • Complete the monthly management accounts and reporting according to schedule and maintaining the accuracy of all journals and final general ledger balances.
  • Assist with the monthly P&L forecasting.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial performance and look for continuous improvement.
  • Provide support to Operational P&L Managers to improve financial awareness and acumen.
  • Support operational delivery and planning alongside key stakeholders and assist with decision making with the use of BI to provide insight.
  • Work closely with production to report accurate inventory levels and costs, supporting with quarterly and annual stock takes.
  • Support with the budget & forecasting process including consolidation and the creation of the group’s long term financial plans, including the business plan.
  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partner to ensure the delivery of information that will ensure the ongoing success within the businesses. Liaise with the wider group to ensure finance is supporting the wider needs of the business.
  • Support with the monitoring and review of contract and sector performance vs. targets.
  • Support the wider finance function, influencing others and leading by example.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as requested.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role and working in a stock environment are essential
  • Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA and looking to continue your studies
  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot tables/Sumif, etc.) are essential – there will be a short Excel test as part of the 2nd stage interview.
  • Good commercial awareness and able to influence at all levels
  • Experience of financial reporting for multiple entities including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ability to work efficiently, prioritising your work and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Communicate in a mature, courteous and professional manner with good inter-personal skills in order to business partner with various stakeholders.
