Your new companyJoin a growing Trust based in Nelson, East Lancashire, in this newly created role of Financial Controller, with part-time hours of 22h per week over 3 days, or with the flexibility to choose a working arrangement that suits you. Reporting to the CFO, you will be a key part of the planned expansion of the Trust, an integral part of a small finance team, in a changing, growing sector.

Your new roleAs a Part-Time Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in strengthening financial operations and management accounting. You will work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to support transitions in the organisation. Your responsibilities will include developing the financial control framework, leading the monthly close, and overseeing all aspects of financial reporting. You will also line manage the finance team and oversee their development.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you must hold a professional accountancy qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA. A thorough and up-to-date understanding of accountancy principles and professional codes of practice is essential, along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities. Previous experience in a financial role within an educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential. You should be a proactive problem-solver with excellent organisational skills, able to effectively prioritise and manage conflicting deadlines under pressure. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally and tactfully with a diverse range of stakeholders are key elements of this role.
