Your new companyI am working with a well established manufacturing business, based in Nelson, who have been successfully trading for over 20 years. With specialist industry knowledge, this business is a now a leader in their field, supplying to a range of industries across the UK. A rare opportunity for an Accounts Assistant has arisen due to pending retirement within the finance function.
Your new roleIn your new role as Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for all elements of transactional finance. Your daily duties will include processing end-to-end purchase ledger, from processing invoices to running the payment runs and processing any expenses within the business. You will take accountability for the sales ledger function, again managing the process from start to finish including generating invoices and chasing for outstanding debt. It's worth noting that although this business has a high number of customer accounts on their ledger, they are very regular customers, therefore minimal debt chasing is required. You will primarily work on Sage 200 and Office 365 packages. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, previous experience of working as an Accounts Assistant is essential. You will have a good working knowledge of the full end-to-end process with purchase ledger and be comfortable in managing the sales ledger function. No previous experience of Credit Control is necessary, but the ability to build relationships with customers and communicate via telephone is a essential part of the role. Ideally, you will have worked on Sage 200 previously and a good working knowledge of Excel is preferable.
