Your new companyThis is a well established distribution business, based in Nelson who are continuing to grow organically throughout the UK market. Due to pending maternity leave, they are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger to join their team for a minimum of 12 months.

Your new roleIn your new role as Purchase Ledger Clerk, your role will involve managing weekly payment runs, processing a high volume of invoices, and handling month-end duties. It includes weekly employee expense payments, European invoice processing, and ensuring intercompany accounts balance monthly. The responsibilities also cover running weekly and monthly reports, assisting with GRNI reviews, monitoring invoice queries, and improving processes. Additionally, it involves setting up new suppliers, posting bank payments to the ledger, and addressing queries on the PO system.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful for this role, you will have experience working as a Purchase Ledger and will have excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, along with high attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organisational and time management skills, and the capacity to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams are essential. Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility to adapt to changing business needs, and proficiency in accounting software and MS Office are also important. A natural curiosity and creative thinking are highly valued.
