Adecco are currently looking for a PA to work for our client in Nelson.

This role is a temporary role, to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months.

Your main responsibility will be to provide direct executive and program coordination support to the Chief Executive and Directors. This role involves working in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Provide confidential support to the Chief Executive, including organising meetings and producing documents.
  • Prepare agendas, ensure accurate minutes, and follow up on actions.
  • Coordinate work programs and logistics for meetings and briefings.
  • Manage calls, documents, and messages for the Chief Executive.
  • Handle public inquiries and resolve issues independently.
  • Manage the Chief Executive's schedule and routine meetings.
  • Support the Leader of the Council and portfolio Members.
  • Assist the Director of Place with diaries and work programs.
  • Plan and oversee events with internal and external partners.
  • Provide secretariat services for external boards and groups.
  • Draft replies to correspondence.
  • Conduct research and analysis on key issues.
  • Manage expenditure and bookings for the Chief Executive.
  • Arrange hospitality for visitors and events.
  • Handle travel arrangements for the Chief Executive and team.
  • Process accounts for invoice payments.
  • Keep the Chief Executive and Directors informed of important matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous experience in business support, program support, or secretarial roles.
  • Ability to coordinate online diaries, prioritising key work areas and issues.
  • Proven time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Strong IT skills, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and file management.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, capable of interacting with a diverse range of people politely and efficiently, with political sensitivity.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and initiative.
  • Proven decision-making skills and assertiveness in challenging situations.

Hybrid Opportunity

This role is likely to be on a Flexible Contract. The minimum in-office attendance is expected to be two or three times a week, but it could be more frequent depending on service demands. Therefore, candidates should live within a commutable distance.

Additional Details

Job Type: Temporary

Hours: 37 hours per week OR 4 days minimum

Days: Between Monday and Friday

Hourly Rate: £14.40ph - £16.97ph
