Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant


Overview:

Seeking a compassionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the dynamic team on a Monday-to-Friday basis. As a key member of the support staff, you will play a vital role in empowering students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs to reach their full potential. Your expertise and dedication will help provide tailored guidance, support, and care to the students, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.


Responsibilities:

- Support students with SEMH needs in their academic and personal development
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one support to students as needed
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Understanding of behavior management techniques
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field
