Graduate Teaching Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in New Addington from April 2025. This full-time role is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, particularly in Key Stage 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils with their learning.
- Assist with classroom preparation, resource organisation, and behaviour management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help pupils develop key literacy and numeracy skills.
- Supervise pupils during break times and extracurricular activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A degree (any subject) - ideal for those considering a career in teaching.
- Some experience working with children (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a passion for education.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a supportive school environment.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
