We are seeking a proactive Food Safety and Quality Specialist to lead our Clients’ efforts in maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems. From overseeing food safety to managing HACCP plans, you'll play a pivotal role in our Clients’ team's success.

Essential Job Functions/ Skills:

Management and improvement of Quality Management Systems including documentation, control and adherence to regulatory requirements, customer and internal driven requirements.

Manage day to day food safety and quality with review of quality records and product release.

Insures that all aspects of HACCP plan development, documentation and control are in place.

Provide direction and guidance to plant team and display leadership in directing quality in the areas of product evaluation and proper documentation. Quality Systems, HACCP, Micro, SPC, plant systems, inventory control, hold management and all programs incorporated within the Quality Management System.

Understand the manufacturing process flow. This includes understanding and auditing key programs that support overall sanitation, maintenance and inspection of the equipment/areas.

Actively participate in and help identify and lead plant continuous improvement quality initiatives, analyze and report leading and lagging KPIs.

Understand food safety and quality standards, follow those standards and know what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly

Must possess the ability to identify and address a non-compliance issue in an EQ manner and make corrections.

Identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action to minimize and eliminate food safety & quality attribute concerns

Supports Sensory, Quality Systems, SPC & HACCP through individual and small group training/coaching with employees involved in the process.

Able to train others on product food safety and quality checks and support development of Food Safety Culture on site.

Must possess ability and aptitude to conduct root cause analysis and follow-up to corrective actions as it relates to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsible for isolating, tagging, and electronically placing defective materials on HOLD.

Continual maintenance of food safety and quality work instructions and verification of on-line quality processes. Areas for improvement will be addressed through training.

Participates actively in audit preparation and follow-up.

Manage finished goods documentation eg. True View, label updates, quality certificates.

Support and lead HACCP team and related initiatives.

Understand current EU labeling requirements and ensure timely development and approval of finished product labels.

Knowledge about food microbiology and managing micro risks in food production environment.

Lead customer satisfaction/complaint resolution process, coordinate investigation ad identification of CAPA with other departments.

Manage supplier approval process including supplier risk assessment and evaluation, master specification of raw materials approval and supplier audit process,

Manage Food Safety Management System documentation, ensure all documents are up to date and reviewed on time.

Qualifications:

Have master’s degree in food science or similar,

Have 5 to 10 years of experience in technical, food safety or quality role in food industry,

Understand requirements of GFSI standards i.e., BRC

Have experience in managing Food Safety and Quality (Technical) documentation like HACCP, site documents and procedures, raw material and finished product specifications etc.

Know basic Root Cause (RC) analysis tools and understand how to perform RC analysis,

Be eager to learn and develop new skills withing Food Safety and Quality,

Have good understanding of food microbiology,

Have experience with complaint management, raw material and finished product specifications,

Be able to use basic statistical tools to understand trends and perform data analysis,

Have a good practical knowledge of MS Tools
