Assistant Accountant/Account Assistant

Kenneth Brian Associates is excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our client, a prestigious Car Dealership Group renowned globally. This position has become available due to the recent launch of a new site.

This role is ideal for a commercially savvy individual with motor trade experience who is ready to advance their career, or for a current Assistant Accountant looking to grow within a dynamic accounting team.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Dealership Accountant, contributing significantly to operational efficiency and ensuring robust financial controls and accounting practices are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial health of three dealership sites on a daily basis.
  • Assist with balance sheet control, risk management, and audit processes.
  • Ensure inventory checks adhere to internal standards.
  • Manage working capital and conduct ongoing cost reviews.
  • Handle Purchase and Sales Ledgers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the motor industry.
  • Capable of working independently and supervising a small team when required.

Typical Daily/Weekly Tasks:

  • Coordinate with local management, divisional, and group-level accounting staff to maintain consistency.
  • Manage risk and working capital concerns.
  • Complete all accounts office tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Fund vehicles on the Used Vehicle Funding Portal and settle upon sale.
  • Pursue aged debtors.

Typical Monthly Tasks:

  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Reconcile manufacturer bonus debts.
  • Support the production of management accounts for dealership leadership, the dealership accountant, and group finance.
  • Calculate and post accruals and prepayments.
  • Handle demo write-downs.
  • Assist with Composite submissions to the Brand.
  • Support Sales & Purchase ledger closing.
  • Review and report on aged debtors.
