Electrical CAD Design Engineer

Our client is a leading developer of Integrated Platform Management Systems used on board Naval vessels. They are looking to hire an Electrical CAD Design Engineer, which is a key role within the Hardware Engineering team, to create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project.

We are also only able to consider applications from sole UK nationals due to the high level of security clearance required.

Responsibilities:
* Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical
* Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
* Provide electrical engineering support to the Electrical Design Engineering team
* Develop component libraries to support schematics
* Review electrical schematics in accordance with relevant standards and internal Computer Aided Design (CAD) processes.
* Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
* Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
* Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
* Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle

Skills and Experience:
* Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
* Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Lloyds Register and other Military Standards (e.g. Def Stan 59-411)
* Proficient user of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
* Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
* Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
