As a senior member of the Systems Safety team, you will play a vital role in delivering complex safety-critical systems and defence standards across multiple platforms. You will undertake safety engineering activities in accordance with safety processes and using guidance from Def Stan 00-056 and IEC61508.

Your Role:

  • Conduct safety analyses such as HAZOPs, FFA, FTA, and FMECA in line with relevant safety standards.
  • Develop and define safety requirements to meet customer and system safety targets.
  • Present complex safety arguments to stakeholders, influencing critical safety decisions.
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality outputs.
  • Support internal and external safety audits and design reviews.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience in Systems Safety within the UK Defence industry.
  • Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent experience in Engineering or Safety Management.
  • Knowledge of safety standards such as IEC 61508 and Def Stan 00-056.
  • Experience in safety/reliability analysis techniques (HAZOPs, FTA, FMECA, etc.).
  • Understanding of risk assessment tools and ALARP justifications.
