We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Kingston upon Thames (KT5). This role will involve supporting students across the class, working closely with the teacher and SENCo to ensure that every child receives the help they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a general classroom environment, supporting KS1 students in their learning and development
  • Provide targeted support for children with SEN, ensuring they can fully engage in lessons
  • Assist with phonics, literacy, and numeracy activities, adapting tasks where needed
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, reinforcing key learning objectives
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and liaise with the SENCo and class teacher

Who We're Looking For:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in a primary school, ideally in KS1
  • A compassionate, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students
