HR Officer - Full or Part Time - Fixed Term Contract - New Malden, Surrey - up to £35k

We’re on the hunt for a CIPD qualified HR Officer, ideally with experience gained in an educational environment, to join a well-established Independent school on a FTC.

Utilising your solid knowledge of the employee life cycle and experience dealing with ER caseloads, you will work effectively and accurately to proactively respond to day-to-day HR issues and queries and complete HR admin.

Role details: This is a fixed term contract. Our client will consider full or part time for this position and a degree of flexibility over hours may be available. However, this is an on-site role, hybrid/remote working is not available.

Reporting to the HR Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting management with a range of employee issues
  • Providing advice on HR procedures and processes
  • Proactively respond to day-to-day HR queries
  • Dealing with absence management
  • Coordinating return to work interviews and exit interviews
  • Assisting with end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Coordinating employee training
  • Maintaining employee records
  • General HR administration

What we’re looking for:

  • CIPD qualified (Level 3)
  • Previous relevant HR experience (HR Officer level is desired)
  • Experience gained in an educational setting is advantageous
  • Solid knowledge and experience of Employee Relations (ER) casework
  • Experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Confident communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Experienced in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Highly organised and able to work under pressure
  • IT literate with MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Professional, flexible, reliable and trustworthy
