SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a lovely SEN school in the New Malden area who are looking for someone to join their amazing team for the start of the new academic year. In this role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support children with special needs on various levels of the autistic spectrum aged 16+. This role as an SEN Teaching Assistant will be for an immediate start with the role being long term if successful following a trial.

Key skills the ideal candidate will have:

  • You must be comfortable working 1:1 within an SEN role or with children in small groups
  • Demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skill
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding
  • Be aware of safeguarding procedures to keep children safe at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people or SEN in any capacity
  • Either live in Feltham or within a commutable distance
  • You must also have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to process a new one
  • Either live in New Malden or within a commutable distance
