Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an SEN English Class Teacher to join a Special Education Needs School in New Malden, within Southwest London.
As an SEN English Teacher for secondary pupils, you will be responsible for teaching students with a diverse range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other related needs.
In this role, you will deliver Functional Skills Level English as well as GCSE English lessons tailored to the individual abilities and learning needs of each pupil, ensuring that all students make measurable progress, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their potential. Your lessons will be designed to be engaging, inclusive, and accessible, with a focus on creating a positive and supportive classroom environment.

Key Stage: KS3/4
Location: New Malden
Full-Time: 5 days per week
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus parent evenings
Salary: Teacher salaries are determined by the national pay scales
Start Date: ASAP (January 2025)
End Date: On-going
Contract Type (temp/perm/temp to perm): Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent
School Type: A specialist school dedicated to supporting students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Opened in September 2022, the campus offers a nurturing environment tailored to the unique needs of these students.
SEN Needs: Autism
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS or equivalent
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last 2 years
