SEN Teacher - Easter Term - New Malden - SEND College

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a co-educational special school located in New Malden. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment, delivering engaging lessons, and supporting the academic and personal growth of students. This role requires a commitment to educational excellence and the ability to inspire students to achieve their full potential.

This college is open to both experienced SEND or Mainstream (with proven SEND experience) Teachers or ECTs!

Responsibilities

  • Lead a class of students with SEMH/behavioural difficulties and maintain and work in line with the SEND Code of Conduct
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and feedback.
  • Provide individualised support to students who may require additional assistance or enrichment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance the educational experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behaviour.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.

Experience

  • SEND experience: Autism, PMLD, SLD, SEMH, Complex Needs, Learning Disabilities and other disabilities.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is essential.
  • Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in lesson planning and record keeping.
  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference in students' lives.
