About the role

One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to leaders. To deliver in this exciting role, you’ll need to be an exceptional and highly experienced insurance leader/director looking for a part-time opportunity which delivers highly motivational commercial and growth opportunities, management challenges and an outstanding salary.

The role demands that you’ll be leading and directing all the activities required to provide exceptional real estate-focused insurance products to clients. These include a range of insurance products designed specifically for leaseholders, landlords, tenants and property management companies.

Successfully assuming overall management, you’ll ensure the team achieves (or exceeds) ambitious targets within budget and adhering to rigorous professional standards. Among your responsibilities will be securing new business, including developing opportunities with key clients. Occasionally, you’ll be required to manage special projects. At all times, you’ll ensure business compliance with FCA and other regulations.

As leader, you’ll inspire your colleagues, supporting their successful career development. This will include conducting annual reviews and monthly one to ones with direct reports. You’ll also appreciate the need for, and ensure, comprehensive succession planning and training.

As a strong team player within the wider parent companies, you’ll proactively initiate, cultivate and consolidate relationships with senior leaders in partner organisations. You’ll be required to prepare and present monthly board reports and annual business plans, as well as provide support and guidance to other companies in the group.

As the role is part-time, you will be required to work three days a week in offices based in a busy market town on England’s stunning, well-loved south coast.

What you’ll bring

This is a sector-specific position, so good knowledge of property insurance and experience working in a commercial real estate background (particularly with substantial property owners) is crucial.

You are skilled in helping your teams adapt to essential changes in company workload and targets. As a respected leader, you’ll bring significant know-how in supporting, motivating, developing and coaching colleagues at all levels.

An exceptional and confident relationship builder and communicator, you’ll have honed excellent negotiation, listening and (written and oral) communication skills, and be highly skilled in developing and sustaining relationships with both internal and external customers

In addition, you can demonstrate previous experience of working in an environment requiring a robust level of compliance to industry standards. You’ll bring good knowledge of FCA guidelines (relating to private and commercial customers), with know-how in effectively resolving complaints.
