The Role

As Growing Operations Manager, you'll take charge of key tasks such as potting, spacing, staking, and grading to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently, while maintaining the highest possible quality or product. You'll also oversee the upkeep of growing equipment and machinery, carrying out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and replacing any equipment that can no longer be serviced.

A crucial part of this role involves driving continuous improvement and reviewing existing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. You'll be responsible for regularly evaluating workflows and identifying areas where operational processes can be streamlined or upgraded. Implementing Lean methodologies, you will focus on minimizing waste, optimizing resource use, and ensuring production targets are consistently met with the highest standards. By leading initiatives that promote sustainable growth and innovation, you'll be directly contributing to the long-term success and competitiveness of their horticultural operations.

You will also manage a team of four direct reports, ensuring clear communication and fostering a culture of improvement and accountability. Health & Safety is a key part of this role, where you'll ensure that site operations meet audit standards and comply with all relevant safety regulations. This is a hands-on position where your ability to continuously improve processes will be as essential as managing daily operations.
